SmartCast is Vizio’s smart TV platform for streaming apps, casting from your phone, and voice control. Set it up in a few steps.

Steps

1. Press the SmartCast (V) button

   Press SmartCast or V on your remote to open the SmartCast home screen.

2. Connect to Wi-Fi

   Go to Menu > Network > Network Connection and join your Wi-Fi network.

3. Activate at vizio.com/setup

   Visit vizio.com/setup, sign in, and enter the 6-digit code from your TV.

4. Install the VIZIO SmartCast app

   Download from the Apple App Store or Google Play and sign in with the same Vizio account.

5. Pair with your TV

   In the app, select your TV from the Devices tab. Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting

App won't connect to TV

Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network (same SSID, same band). Enable Bluetooth on your phone.

TV not appearing in the app

Force-close and reopen the app. Sign out and back in. Re-activate the TV if needed.

SmartCast button not working

Replace remote batteries. Re-pair a Bluetooth remote by holding Home + OK for 5 seconds.

Is SmartCast free?

Yes. Individual streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) may require their own subscriptions.

Which TVs support SmartCast?

Most Vizio Smart TVs from 2016 onward: D, E, M, P, and V-Series.

Do I need the mobile app?

No. It is optional but adds casting, virtual remote, and enhanced search.
