Vizio SmartCast is a closed platform and does not officially support APK sideloading. Use an external streaming device (Fire Stick, Chromecast, Android TV box) for full APK support.
The easiest way to run APK apps on your Vizio is to plug in an Android-based streaming device.

Get an Android streaming device

Amazon Fire TV Stick, NVIDIA Shield, or any Android TV box works.

Connect to HDMI

Plug the device into any HDMI port on your Vizio TV.

Enable unknown sources

On the device: Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Apps from Unknown Sources > On.

Install a file manager

Install Downloader by AFTVnews from the Amazon App Store.

Download the APK

Open Downloader and enter the direct APK URL, then install.

Cast APK apps from your phone

Install the APK on your Android phone and cast to your Vizio TV.

Install APK on Android phone

Enable Install Unknown Apps in phone settings, then install the APK.

Open the app

Launch it and tap the cast icon.

Select your Vizio TV

Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

  1. On Android: enable Screen Cast or Smart View.
  2. Select your Vizio TV.
  3. The app displays on your TV screen.
