Click To Continue A factory reset restores your Vizio TV to its original state, fixing persistent software issues.
This permanently erases all settings, apps, Wi-Fi passwords, and account logins. Try a soft reset first.

Soft reset (try first)

  1. Turn off the TV and unplug it.
  2. Hold the TV’s Power button for 10 seconds.
  3. Wait 60 seconds, plug back in, and power on.

Method 1: reset via menu

Open the menu

Press Menu on the remote.

Navigate to reset

Go to System > Reset & Admin > Reset TV to Factory Defaults.

Enter PIN

Default is 0000.

Confirm

Select Reset. The TV restarts and enters the setup wizard.

Method 2: physical button reset

Use if your remote is broken or the TV is frozen.
  1. With the TV on, hold Power + Volume Down on the TV itself.
  2. Hold for 10-15 seconds until the screen goes black and the Vizio logo appears.
  3. Release and let it reboot.
Button locations vary by model.

Method 3: SmartCast app

Use the VIZIO SmartCast app as a remote and follow Method 1.

After the reset

Complete the setup wizard: choose language, connect to Wi-Fi, and activate at vizio.com/setup. Then re-install apps and sign back in.
