# How to Activate Vizio TV at vizio.com/setup — Step-by-Step

Link your Vizio Smart TV to your account by entering the 6-digit code from your TV screen at [vizio.com/setup](https://vizio.com/setup).

## Steps

    Plug in your TV and press **Power**. Wait for it to finish booting.

    An activation screen appears with a unique 6-digit code. If not, go to **Menu > System > Reset & Admin > Activate TV**.

    On your phone or computer, visit [vizio.com/setup](https://vizio.com/setup).

  <Step title="Sign in or create a free account">
    Use your existing Vizio account or create one with your email.

    Type the 6-digit code exactly as shown on your TV, then click **Continue**.

## Troubleshooting

    Codes expire after 15 to 30 minutes. Generate a new one via **Menu > System > Reset & Admin > Activate TV**.
