# Connect HDMI Devices to Your Vizio TV: PS5, Xbox, Fire Stick

Connect consoles, streaming sticks, Blu-ray players, and soundbars to your Vizio TV.

## HDMI ports overview

Most Vizio TVs have 3-4 HDMI ports:

* **HDMI 2.1**: 4K @ 120Hz, VRR, ALLM (for PS5, Xbox Series X)
* **HDMI 2.0**: 4K @ 60Hz, HDR10, Dolby Vision
* **HDMI ARC / eARC** (usually HDMI 1): audio to soundbar/receiver

## Connect a device

    Turn off the TV and source device before plugging in.

    Use HDMI 2.1 for next-gen consoles, HDMI ARC for soundbars.

    Plug a high-speed HDMI cable firmly into both devices.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Power on and select input">
    Turn on the TV, then the device. Press **Input** on the remote and choose the correct HDMI port.

## HDMI ARC (soundbar)

    Plug the soundbar's HDMI OUT (ARC) into the TV's **HDMI 1 (ARC)** port.

  <Step title="Enable CEC">
    Go to **Menu > System > CEC** and turn it **On**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set audio output">
    Navigate to **Menu > Audio > Audio Output** and select **ARC**.

For **eARC** (Dolby Atmos, DTS:X), use an Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cable and enable eARC on both devices.

## Troubleshooting

    Reseat the cable, try a different port, or use a different HDMI cable. Power cycle both devices.

  <Accordion title="4K or HDR not working">
    Use an HDMI 2.0/2.1 port and a Premium/Ultra High Speed cable. Enable 4K + HDR in the source device's video settings.

  <Accordion title="CEC / auto-input not working">
    Enable CEC on both devices. Reconnect the HDMI cable to force a fresh handshake.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Audio but no picture (or vice versa)">
    Switch inputs and back to refresh HDCP. Verify audio output settings.

## Console quick setup

* **PS5:** Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > 2160p, enable HDR + VRR.
* **Xbox Series X:** Settings > General > TV & Display Options > 4K UHD, enable 120Hz + VRR.
